India’s Foreign Minister S. M. Krishna on Friday begins his official agenda in Cuba, to strengthen bilateral ties and deal with regional and international affairs.

After arriving in at the capital’s international airport on Thursday night, Krishna will meet with his Cuban peer Bruno Rodriguez. Previously, the visitor will lay a wreath at monument to Cuban hero Jose Marti (1853-1895).

The visit coincides in time with the recent presentation of credentials of Indian ambassador to Havana Chinthapally Rajasekhar, and the oil exploration in Cuba Exclusive Economic Zone in the Gulf of Mexico of the Indian state-owned oil company ONGC Videsh.
