In a further effort to strengthen regional integration, the countries with the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our Americas are holding their First Meeting on Economic, Production and Commercial Complementarity, in Caracas, Venezuela.

In general terms, the meeting aims at the identification of strategic production sectors and common interests in each nation with the ALBA, and at evaluating necessities at regional level, said Venezuelan deputy foreign minister Veronica Guerrero at the opening session of the forum, PL news agency reported from Caracas.

Representatives of different production sectors in all the countries will be working in commissions Thursday and Friday on specific areas, in order to contribute to the agreements that will be adopted by the conference.

The event is being attended by government officials and business people from Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Dominica, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ecuador, Antigua and Barbuda, which are the ALBA member states, as well as from Haiti and Surinam as guest countries. (Taken from ACN)
