Sancti Spiritus Graduates First Latin American Surgeons

For almost two decades, surgeons are being trained at Camilo Cienfuegos Hospital in Sancti Spiritus, but for the first time specialists from the Latin American School of Medicine graduate here.  According to this institution’s surgical service head, nine doctors (7 from Ecuador, 1 from Bolivia and 1 from Nicaragua) concluded their specialization studies after having graduated as physicians and later on studied the General Integral Medicine speciality here.

Even when most of the medical students come from Latin American countries, physicians from other areas have been also trained in this territory.
