International conference on U.S.-Cuba relations scheduled for March

Several groups, U.S. activists, and solidarity associations are preparing for the U.S.-Cuba International Normalization Conference, to be held on March 19 and 20 in Manhattan, New York.

As explained via email to Prensa Latina by the leader of the Cuba Sí New York-New Jersey Coalition, Ike Nahem, the physical event will be held at The People’s Forum. Still, that space is limited to accommodate about 150 people due to restrictions imposed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hundreds of participants worldwide are expected to participate through online platforms to express their rejection of Washington’s hostile and blockade policies.

The opening plenary will be held on Saturday morning, March 19. During the day, there will be several panels on the participation of Cuban women in society and gender equity, said Nahem.

Likewise, issues related to the debates on the new Family Code on the island will be analyzed, said the U.S. activist.

Sunday, March 20, will be the closing of the International Conference, and there will be a panel focused on actions to fight and end the U.S. government’s economic and political war against Cuba.
