Raul and the distinguished visitor agreed on the intention to continue strengthening ties between their nations
Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, president of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, yesterday June 6, received Army General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Political Bureau and the country’s minister of Defense, who is making an official visit to the country.
The two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest in a fraternal conversation and agreed on the intention to continue strengthening ties between their nations. Ngo Xuan Lich emphasized the deep friendship shared by the two parties, governments, and peoples.
Participating in the delegation accompanying the distinguished guest was His Excellency Nguyen Trung Thanh, Vietnamese ambassador in Cuba.
Present on the Cuban side were Army Corps Generals Leopoldo Cintra Frías and Álvaro López Miera, deputy minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and Chief of Staff, respectively, both members of the Communist Party of Cuba’s Political Bureau, in addition to other officers.
