Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez held official talks on Wednesday in Rome with Italy’s Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, Angelino Alfano, reported Cubaminrex website.
During the meeting both Ministers exchanged issues of mutual interests and outlined the positive development of bilateral relations based on respect and benefits on both sides.
Both diplomats expressed the shared commitment in strengthening the current relations and stressed interest in expanding the ties in the political-diplomatic and economic-commercial sectors among others.
The Cuban Foreign Minister appreciated Italy’s constructive position in the process of improved relations with the European Union and thanked the traditional support of the Cuban Resolution against the US blockade at the UN General Assembly.
The Cuban delegation accompanying the Minister is also made up of the Cuban ambassador to Italy, Alba Soto Pimentel; the Director of Europe and Canada at MINREX, Elio Rodriguez Perdomo and the Head of the Minister’s Secretary Ambassador Barbara Elena Montalvo.
