Esteban Lazo, president of the Cuban People’s Power National Assembly (Parliament) arrived on Sunday in China on an
official visit invited by his Chinese counterpart Zhang Dejiang.
Lazo’s visit, which will go through Friday, is part of the frequent high level contacts between the two countries, which have had diplomatic relations for over 55 years, according to Prensa Latina news agency.
During his visit, Lazo will hold official talks with Zhang as well as with leaders of the Chinese government and Communist party.
He will also tour the cities of Shanghai and Suzhou and visit the
headquarters of the Cuban-Chinese joint venture Biotech Pharmaceuticals Co.Ltd.
Previously the Cuban leader visit Vietnam where he met with top government and Communist Party officials and delivered a speech at the National Assembly.
