In the 646 constituencies of the province, the nomination assemblies will continue until September 30th
The nomination of candidates for delegates of the municipal assemblies of the People’s Power was started this September 4th in Sancti Spiritus, central Cuba, with the celebration of pilot meetings in the eight municipalities of the territory.
According to information from the the Provincial Electoral Commission, the members of each of the so-called People’s Councils will meet Tuesday prior to the continuation of the nomination assemblies in which the more than 370,000 voters of the province will have the opportunity to choose who they consider the best candidates according to both their merits and abilities.
Depending on the number of voters, there could be demarcations with several nomination areas. In such cases, two or more candidates are to be nominated.
In the 646 constituencies of the province, the nomination assemblies will continue until September 30th. Once selected, the nominees’ photos and biographies will be exhibited in public areas so that voters will learn about them prior to the next October 22nd elections.
