Given the importance of teaching the Historia de Cuba subject, Escambray summoned local historians, methodologists and history teachers, to attended an online forum on the topic this Tuesday, September 20th
Despite Francis Fukuyama’s thesis about the end of history proclaimed back in 1992, and despite the fact that US President Barack Obama, during his recent visit to Havana, encouraged Cubans to forget about the common past shared by the two nations, we strongly refuse to let bygones be bygones.
That’s why, it is essential for Cubans not only knowing about the dates and personalities that marked milestones in the evolution of the country, but discovering, above all, the whole historical processes, the conflicts and personal and social motivations that shaped our identity.
Given the importance of teaching about Historia de Cuba (national history) for the formation of the citizen and for the future of the country, Escambray summoned local historians, methodologists and renowned history teachers, who attended an online forum this Tuesday, September 20th, at 2:00 P.M.
