Cuba President Meets with PAHO Director General

Army General Raul Castro, president of the Councils of State and Ministers, received Carissa Etienne, director general of the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO)

Carissa Etienne is on a visit to Cuba to preside over the Sub-regional Meeting of PAHO Representatives to Central America, Haiti, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Cuba.

In a cordial atmosphere, on Friday afternoon, the two parties exchanged views on the performance of the program developed in the sub-regional meeting, the situation of Zika in the region, and the plan implemented by Cuba to face this disease, as well as the medical cooperation Cuba provides in the field of health.

Also present at the meeting were Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and Public Health Minister Roberto Morales.
