The visit of the members of the solidarity brigade was concluded last Saturday, when they returnined to the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp, in Caimito, in the western province of Artemisa
The 210 members of the 11th First of May International Solidarity-with-Cuba Brigade went to the northern municipality of Yaguajay, in Sancti Spiritus, to visit the Camilo Cienfuegos Historical Complex, the first activity of the program organized for the group in the territory.
According to the scheduled program, the “brigadistas”, who come from different continents, laid a wreath at the Mausoleum where the remains of the North Front combatants are kept. They also toured the museum and met with veteran fighters who fought with Camilo during the liberation war.
The visitors were afterwards welcomed in the Municipal Joaquin Paneca Hospital, former military barrack during Fulgencio Batista tyranny, where they received extensive information on the health system in Cuba, particularly the advances of the medical services in Yaguajay.
The program of activities, scheduled to conclude next Friday, also includes a visit to the House of the Guayabera, where they will share experiences with members of the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists, and the Hermanos Saíz Association. They will be also meeting with representatives of one of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution in this city.
On Saturday, the members of the solidarity brigade will be returning to the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp, in Caimito, in the western province of Artemisa.
