Cuba President Raul Castro received Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, who is on an official visit to Cuba
During the meeting, held on Monday afternoon, they spoke about the positive relations existing between the two countries and expressed their willingness to continue working for their strengthening.
They also acknowledged that the recent signing in Madrid of agreements regularizing Cuba’s medium and long term debt with Spain creates favorable conditions for achieving that goal. They also discussed other issues of interest on the
international agenda.
The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Ana Pastor, minister of Development; Pablo Gomez de Olea, director general for Latin America at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain; and Ambassador Juan Francisco Montalban.
Also representing Cuba at the meeting were Foreign Minister Bruno
Rodriguez; Ricardo Cabrisas, vice president of the Council of Ministers; Rodrigo Malmierca, minister of Foreign Trade and Investment; and Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra.
Previously, the Spanish FM also held official talks with his Cuban
counterpart and met with Cabrisas and Malmierca.
