Residents of Cabaiguan, central Cuba, gathered this July 24 at the Revolution Square, to evoke that day in which a group of young people eager to change the destiny of the country, decided to make a difference.
The names of local martyrs Reemberto Abad German, Ricardo Santana Martinez, Antonio Dario Lopez Garcia, and Faustino Perez Hernandez were echoed at the beginning of the ceremony, in which local traditions and history were combined together.
Recognitions were handed over to several local institutions and bodies by top representatives of the party and the government in the province.
The key speech of the ceremony was delivered by José Ramón Monteagudo Ruiz, member of the Central Committee, and first secretary of the party in Sancti Spiritus.
