Topes de Collantes, declared Protected Landscape, will be host from September 15 to 20, of the 3rd Nature Photography Contest organized by the tourism group Gaviota S.A.
Sancti Spiritus: a Rough Diamond for Nature Tourism
The site, located in the Guamuhaya mountainous massif, some 20 km from Trinidad city (main tourist destination in the Cuban central province of Sancti Spiritus), treasures more than the 45% of the endemic species registered in the island.
Liset Rodríguez, Gaviota, specialist on Communication and Promotion, explained to the Cuban News Agency (AIN) that all photographers interested may participate with works based on Topes de Collantes during the event.
The contest categories are landscape, flora and fauna, men and nature, and macro shooting; each competitor can select up to three images per class and deliver them in TIFF or JPEG format.
Besides awarding the three best contestants per category, a unique Grand Prix will be delivered, and its winner (plus one) will enjoy six nights in a hotel in Santa Maria Key with All Inclusive regime.
