United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon met on Sunday with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, who is heading the island’s delegation to the 69th Session of the General Assembly, to open September 24th.
During the meeting, Ki-moon expressed his appreciation to Cuba for its rapid response to fight Ebola in Africa and asked to forward his message of gratitude to President Raul Castro.
The UN secretary general stressed the need for all countries to contribute to the effort, saying that others should follow the example given by Cuba.
