Yosbany Veitia‘s path to gold was truncated again as he was defeated in the semifinals of the 12th World Boxing Championship held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Despite the loss, Veitia’s bronze became his first world medal in senior boxing championships where he had participated twice. The 2011 version allowed him to compete in London Olympic Games.
