Former Brazilian president Luis Inacio Lula da Silva meets with Fidel Castro.
Former Brazilian president Luis Inacio Lula da Silva met on Thursday in Havana with the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, a local source said.
During the meeting, Lula Da Silva expressed his wishes for the prompt recovery of ailing Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who underwent cancer surgery last December in Havana.
Earlier, Lula had met with President Raul Castro, with whom he toured the expansion works underway at the Port of Mariel, east of Havana, being co-funded by Brazil.
The Brazilian politician had traveled to Cuba to take part in the III Conference for World Balance, which wrapped up yesterday and was dedicated to the 160th birth anniversary of Cuban National Hero José Martí.
