The evacuation of over a thousand people had been already carried out this Friday morning in the central Cuban territory of Sancti Spiritus, due to the heavy rains that have been affecting the territory since last May 22nd.
Sources from the Disaster Reduction Bureau told the local press that nearly 20 communities from five municipalities are isolated from the rest of the territory. Early this morning, large floods were reported in the local municipalities of Fomento, Trinidad and Cabaiguan were the most hitted by the floods. Around 11:00 A. M., Zaza dam stocks had gone up by over 900, 000 000m³.
