May Day Commemoration in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba (+photos)

With the speech delivered by Domingo Gutierrez Gutierrez, general secretary of the Federation of Cuban Workers (CTC) in Sancti Spiritus, the 1^st of May parade was started in this territory, in the presence of top Party and governmental leaders as well as representatives from grassroots organizations.

The march is led by a group of outstanding local juveniles as a way to commemorate the 50^th anniversary of the Youth Communist League (UJC).  The 18 trade unions march is headed by the sugar workers, the island’s first to accomplish the sugar production plan this year.

The International Workers Day is simultaneously celebrated in the rest of the municipalities, which constitutes another opportunity for the people to express their support to the Cuban Revolution, the Party, Socialism and to Fidel and Raul.
