Literary Opening for Summertime in Sancti Spiritus

Residents from the central Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus will witness the inauguration of the summer season this July 6th, with the celebration of the Night of the Books, an initiative of growing preference in this respect.

Presentation of books, poetry reading and the selling of highly demanded volumes, are some of the scheduled activities to be held in the capital city, as well as in the rest of the municipalities.

Mariano Pino, from the local Raul Ferrer Literature Promotion Center, said that the program of activities was actually started earlier this day, when writers María del Rosario Basso, Yolanda Rodríguez and Julio Llanes met with children at the bulevard.

He also referred to La calle (The street), a literary project that will be first presented within the framework of the celebration.
