The 696 delegates in Sancti Spiritus elected by the people took up positions in the eight municipalities of the Cuban central territory.
Last Sunday, November 25th, the 696 delegates in Sancti Spiritus elected by the people took up positions in the eight municipalities of the Cuban central territory to officially start the 15th Mandate Period for the Municipal Assemblies of the People’s Power.
This is part of Cuba’s general election process, which has as a starting point the nomination, and then, the vote, through secret and direct suffrage, of the delegates of each constituency who set up, from Sunday on, the local governments.
Each delegate elected its president and vice-president, who took their local government offices.
During the first and second stages carried out on October 21st and 28th, the people in the territory were involved in the crucial commitment to choose who will lead the local government in the districts for the next two-and-a- half-year term.
The Assembly elected keep sworn loyalty to the Fatherland, observe and enforce the Constitution, laws and other legal norms; behave as faithful servants of the people and the community, and meet the obligations imposed on the charge for which they were chosen.
