“How many of you have read Ernesto Guevara’s original works?”, was the question asked to the auditorium by Che Guevara’s daughter, Aleida, in a meeting with university students in Sancti Spiritus.
Forty five years after a dream was immortalized in La Higuera, “the most important thing is that you read what he wrote, and, above all, that you put it into practice. The Cuban Five are Che’s best sons, because they practice his ideas, therefore, they are my brothers”, she said during the lecture given at the local University of Pedagogical Sciences.
“Youth understands what Che Guevara said because he wrote no difficult concepts; on the contrary, they were about everyday life, and they can help us become better human beings. And that is the goal, that young people get aware of the potential they do have. That is precisely what Che has been demanding from us since long ago”, Aleida added when being interviewed by Escambray.
While in Sancti Spiritus, Aleida Guevara also met with students from the local Jose Marti University, with future doctors, and with students from primary education schools.
