Sancti Spiritus’s Melanio Hernandez sugar mill was Cuba’s first to accomplish the sugar production plan for the year.A letter was sent to the entity by Cuban Sugar Minister Orlando García Ramírez in which he acknowledged this result as well as the great efficiency of the whole agro-industrial process.
The sugar production plan was met six days in advance, so, the plant can produce some extra sugar for a few more days.
According to the entity’s management, once the milling is over, most workers from the plant will join sugar cane field labors.
