The city of Jatibonico, in the central Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus, was hiy by a severe local storm which caused considerable damage to buildings, the electricity network, and the communication roads.»

Damages to electricity, to housing and to centers of production and services, mainly in the glass and roofs, and downed trees in several parts of the city are the most visible consequences of the severe local storm that hit Sancti Spiritus, in central Cuba,  on Monday afternoon.»

Sancti Spiritus residents were surprised this Wednesday afternoon by a severe local storm, which came to be a very unusual event in Cuba’s coldest winter month. Winds ranged from 70 to 80 km/hour and an unusual presence of hails was also reported.»
