Cuban Village of Trinidad Readies for 500th Anniversary

In just one week Trinidad will live a momentous event: the half millennium of its foundation, for which significant resources and efforts have been mobilized to improve the image of the third Cuban village.

According to Radio Trinidad web site,the works at this stage focus on the details of the construction program and the rehabilitation of buildings with patrimonial value such as the Museums Lucha Contra Bandidos and the Romantico, the recovery of Malibran and Frias Houses, and the Amargura 85 building, as well as repairing pavements, patching, upgrading and painting of facades in emblematic streets.

The activities in the last days have been really intense, and thanks to the popular call,  cleanup and sanitizing actions have been carried out throughout the city, which will show off all its majesty in its five centuries.
Gastronomic centers have also been improved, the image of the Plaza Carrillo revives and the restoration project of lighting the main arteries of the historic center of the town concluded.

Other works like the modern system of sewage treatment in Trinidad, the specialized bar El Floridita and expanding the Mall Galeria Universo are in the concluding stage, which will be inaugurated during the founding festivities which have an ample cultural program and the arrival of personalities from all Cuba.
