The figure, according to the opening remarks of Hector Hernandez Pardo, general deputy director of the Jose Marti Program Office, makes the meeting one of world largest forums on plural thought.

The fact that this is achieved in the small Cuba, where it has been demonstrated the value of ideas in front of the imperial desires, and in honor of this extraordinary thinker and politician of our America was José Martí, reaffirmed the will of humanity to build a better world, Hernandez said.

Previously, general director of the Jose Marti Program Office and president of the Jose Marti Cultural Society, Armando Hart, in a message read to participants, highlighted the importance and relevance of the conclave in the current context, marked by acute problems that jeopardize the human being.

We are living particularly turbulent and dangerous times, characterized by loss of principles to ensure peace, as well as an intellectual, cultural, political and economic crisis, but especially ethical and moral crisis, Hart said.

Therefore, it is essential as never before to defeate the ambitions of imperialism, it is necessary to cope with unity, political wisdom and confidence in the masses, he said.

Sponsored by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco), the international conference “With All and for the God of All” will be held at Havana’s Convention Center until Thursday.
