1st of May International Brigade Arrives in Sancti Spiritus

The 210 members of the brigade were welcomed by political and governmental authorities, and by the delegation of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) in this city.

According to Raul Cardoso Cabrera, ICAP delegate in this territory, before coming to the Village of the Holy Spirit, the foreign visitors participated in the May Day celebrations in Havana, and paid a visit to the mausoleum dedicated to Che Guevara and his guerrilla fellow comrades, in Santa Clara.

Cardoso also said that the group will tour the Camilo Cienfuegos Historic Complex, in Yaguajay, and will hold meetings with veteran fighters of the Cuban Revolution and with representatives of the civil society.

The program of activities, scheduled to conclude next Friday, also includes a visit to the House of the Guayabera, where they will share experiences with members of the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists, and the Hermanos Saíz Association. They will be also meeting with representatives of one of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution in this city.

On Saturday, the members of the solidarity brigade will be returning to the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp, in Caimito, in the western province of Artemisa.
