London 2012: Cuba, 16th Place in the Medal Standings

The Cuban delegation was placed 16th in the medal standings by country of the 2012 London Olympics. The athletes from the island, totalling 110, got 14 medals in the big event: 5 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze. Cuban titles went to shooter Leuris Pupo, judo athlete Idalys Ortiz, Greco wrestler Mijain Lopez, and boxers Roniel Inglesias and Robeisy Ramirez.

Silver medals were obtained by judokas Yanet Bermoy and Asley Gonzalez, and pole vaulter Yarisley Silva.

Bronzes were to boxers Yasniel Toledo and Lazaro Alvarez, decathlete Leonel Suarez, taekwondo athlete Robelis Despaigne, weightlifter Ivan Cambar and Freestyle wrestler Livan Lopez.

Cuba improved its position in the medal standings when compared with Beijing 2008 when it finished with 2 golds, 11 silver, and 11 bronzes.
