Del Toro was presented with the award in the main ceremony held in this territory to commemorate the Cuban teachers’ day.

130 Cuban personalities or institutions have been so far granted the Los Zapaticos de Rosa award such as Fidel and Raul Castro, Vilma Espin and the Cuban Five.
