President Cristina Fernandez Postpones Visit to Chile

Santiago de Chile, Dec 28 (Prensa Latina)President Sebastián Piñera confirmed today the postponement of the state visit by Argentina´s President Cristina Fernández, who will undergo surgery on January 4th to treat a moderate papillary cancer in the thyroid gland.

From Valdivia, South Chile, the President wished her, by telephone on Tuesday night, a fast post-surgery recovery, while official sources said it is a moderate cancer and that she is well.

The state visit has tentatively been rescheduled for January 25th and 26th.  (PL)
